Dr. Konstantinos Ch. Karabatsas specializes in modern eye microsurgery. More specifically, advanced microsurgical cataract using femtosecond laser technology and special intraocular lenses.

His academic career includes Lecturer positions at the University of Bristol in Great Britain (1996-97), Lecturer (2000-02) and Assistant Professor. Professor of Ophthalmology (2003-07) at the Medical School of the University of Thessaly.

He has a rich writing activity in the international literature with more than 400 scientific works and has therefore been included in the “Europe 500, Leaders for the New Century”.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, elected member of the Board of the Hellenic College of Ophthalmology and General Secretary of the Hellenic Corneal Society.

He studied Medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He completed his specialty (1990-95) and then his postgraduate training (1995-97) (clinical fellowship in corneal surgery) at the University Clinic of Bristol Eye Hospital in England and at the Hospital for Sick Children (Pediatric Ophthalmology). ), in Toronto, Canada. He completed his doctoral dissertation (PhD) on corneal transplants at the British University of Bristol as a fellow of the State Scholarship Foundation (IKY).
