Dr. Kontari Ioanna graduated from the Medical School “University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova” with a grade of Excellent (9.35).
She fulfilled the field service at the Health Center of Kranidi, at the Regional Clinic of Ermioni, Argolis. At the same time, she taught the subject of Hygiene at the School of Tourism Professions in Ermioni, Argolis.
She started practicing Ophthalmology at the Penteli Children’s Hospital, where she was trained in pediatric ophthalmology. Later she worked as a scientifically responsible doctor in the beauty and slimming center Beauty and Diet and then in the Research and Therapeutic Institute “Ofthalmos”, having responsibilities in the department of refraction and preoperative study as well as in the department of glaucoma. Completed the specialty exercise at the General Hospital of Nikaia “Ag. Panteleimon” where she gained experience in cataract surgery, intravitreal injections, in the study and treatment of glaucoma in ocular trauma, in pathology and treatment of the posterior hemisphere (ocher-doubtful) and in the Argon laser.
From 2010 until today she exercises her duties, as a scientific collaborator, in the Clinical & Research Eye Institute LaserVision.gr.
In 2016 she went to the United Kingdom (Harley street, London, KT Training) where she trained in non-invasive injection treatments for face and eye area with botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid (Botox, Dysport, Fillers)
She has performed a significant number of surgeries (cataracts, myopia / hyperopia, astigmatism, intravitreal infusions), while her scientific work includes dozens of presentations at international and domestic conferences, as well as publications in internationally recognized scientific journals.
